Leonardus Jonatan Christie (born 15 September 1997) is an Indonesian badminton player specializing in the singles discipline affiliated with the Tangkas Specs club. He won the men's singles title at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games and at the 2018 Asian Games . Christie was part of Indonesia's winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup . His father played a big role in his career in badminton. Jonathan was introduced to badminton by his father since childhood. He started playing badminton when he was 6 years old. Previously, he also played other sports, basketball and football. However, his father wanted him to focus on badminton. Since then, he began to seriously pursue badminton.
